Josephine Carter

Although her father was a founder member of the Downland Art Society, Josephine did not pick up a paintbrush until 10 years ago and only then discovered how much fun can be had when painting.

She became, more or less by accident, a student of our President, Christopher Baker. It was he who taught her that a painting need not necessarily be representational, but should try to convey your emotions. One way or another, Josephine hopes that her work shows her deep love of nature and the countryside.

Josephine paints in acrylics and also enjoys monoprinting although, unfortunately, she does not have the facilities to do these very often.
